| The Castril museum of 'La Peña'. This comprises the moorish fort built on top of a huge rock outcrop. In addition, there is a video show explaining the history and a museum of life in The Altiplano. Visits are in Spanish by guide and are morning and afternoon. Translations in English are available. It should be borne in mind that there are no lifts on the site and there are some steep paths but the guide stops regularly to explain the different areas and their history. Views from La Peña are spectacular as it gives the perfect viewpoint for seeing the whole Castril valley. The museum can be found at the top of the town of Castril directly opposite the south door of the church. |
